September 30, 2007- Newburgh Police were called to investigate a car alarm in the area of 104 South Lander St where they found remnents of a chemical reaction "bottle bomb". During the investgation a second explosion went off. At that time All Companies were dispatched to assist PD. Two more devices were found with unknown chemicals inside at the intersection of South Lander St and Carson Ave. Companies and PD withdrew to a safe distance. Orange County Haz-Mat team as well as NY State Police Bomb Unit were called in to assist. The last two devices were detonated by NYS Police.

Although these devices sound minor, they are quite dangerous. These devices can cause serious injury or death. These bombs discharge hazardous chemicals, fumes, and sharp pieces of the bottle. Also Due to the nature of the chemical reaction, explosions can occur anywhere between a few seconds and a few hours.
